Nottingham weather forecast for May bank holiday weekend as colder and cloudier conditions expected

After a sunny and warm April so far, weather conditions look set to be cloudier and cooler heading into the bank holiday May weekend.

Temperatures in Nottingham are not expected to get above 11C this weekend, according to the Met Office.

Forecasters are also predicted cloudier conditions, "feeling cold with temperatures below average".

So it might be time for a few extra layers if heading to any beer gardens or outdoor attractions this weekend.

And early forecasts predict a wet Bank Holiday Monday (May 3) with showers expected throughout the day in Nottingham.

Here's the Met Office outlook in the region for the week ahead:

Today:

"Rather cloudy with a few residual showers in the morning, mainly in the west. An improving picture to the east. Quite breezy along coastal areas though. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

"A cold and largely clear night although the odd shower cannot be ruled out, especially in the north. A frost is probable away from coastal areas. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Thursday:

"Sunny spells and showers feeding in from the coast, reaching all parts during the afternoon. Feeling cold, with temperatures below average. Showers becoming confined to coastal areas in the evening. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

"Largely dry and bright on most days, but a few showers in the afternoon. Mostly clear with a chance of frost overnight. Perhaps cloudier and less cold on Saturday."
