Nottingham weather forecast as more rain expected at the weekend

After a typically wet and miserable Bank Holiday Monday, weather conditions look to be similar for the coming weekend.

Wet and windy conditions look set to hit Nottingham on Saturday May 8 - which is sure to scupper many people's plans for a beer garden drink or meal with friends or family.

The Met Office is predicting scattered showers too on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - but these are less likely that on Saturday.

Here's the outlook for Wednesday May 5 and the week ahead in the region from the Met Office:

Today:

A cold and clear start with a frost in places leading to a bright or sunny day with scattered showers. Showers perhaps falling as sleet over the Derbyshire Hills, possibly with hail at lower levels further east. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Showers dying away fairly quickly through the evening with all parts dry and clear by midnight. Isolated mist or fog patches may form by dawn, with another widespread sharp frost. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Thursday:

Another cold day, bright spells through the morning but cloud thickening with showers during the afternoon, locally heavy with hail and perhaps wintry over the hills. Showers dying out later. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Sunny spells and scattered showers on Friday, some parts dry. A dry start Saturday, then wet and windy from late morning. Windy with further heavy showers on Sunday. Overnight frosts.
