Nottingham Waterfront festival to return to city after three year break

A popular Nottingham festival by the riverfront is set to return after a three-year hiatus due to Covid restrictions. The Nottingham Waterfront Festival will take place at Canalhouse bar on Saturday, July 2nd.

The event which is by I'm Not From London, Audacious Face Music and Dedicated C.I.C sees three stages of local and touring acts at the Canalhouse. All proceeds to the event will go to Emmanuel House and also to Ukraine through Aviva's British Red Cross support match funding program. The festival has raised over £30,000 for local charities over the years

Live music on the night will come from Nottingham's Arch Femmesis, Jimmy the Squirrel and Concrete Rose. The bands will be joined by DJs playing throughout the day. There will also be an additional showcase at the Navigation Inn which will showcase talent from the female and non-binary Sugar Stealers Community.

This year Canal and River Trust are getting involved with the action by offering a pop-up market to Canal Wharf including paddle board and canoe sessions as part of their Waterways and Wellbeings program. Sessions will need to be booked in advance of the festival as places are limited.

There are prizes to be won for the best fancy dress with the theme, Dead Famous. Festival fans are asked to get dressed up as their favourite dead musician, actor or famous person. All bands will be playing a cover from their favourite dead musician so expect to hear anything from Lemmy to Lennon.

The event is sponsored by Gigantic Tickets, Leftlion Magazine, Franklin and Sons with Castle Rock Brewery. The tickets cost £8 in advance and £10 on the day. Under 18s will only be allowed into the festival until 7pm.
