Nottingham vegan restaurant 'almost ready' to open its first venue in heart of the city

Excitement is building among plant-based eaters as a new vegan restaurant is set to open its first standalone venue.

The popular 13th Element is "almost ready" to open its premises on Castle Boulevard in Nottingham.

The already popular outlet had taken charge of the kitchen at The Golden Fleece on Mansfield Road for a number of months, providing its customers with a wide range of fully plant based vegan products when eating out was not an option.

The outlet was set up two-and-a-half years ago and first became popular at the Nottingham Street Food Club, at Victoria Centre.

It was created by Liam Russell, from Bulwell, who has since taken 101 Castle Boulevard on a new permanent lease.

He said: “It is great to be almost ready to open our doors to dining guests although we have been serving our customers on Deliveroo and Uber Eats for some time.

"Working with Jack on Castle Boulevard was a pleasure and we look forward to working with FHP on any future projects as we continue to grow the business.”

FHP is a commercial estate agent which is supporting independent jobs and operators across Nottingham, Derby and Birmingham.

Jack Shakespeare at FHP Property Consultants added: “It is great to see an independent business originally take space in the Street Food Club which is another one of my projects alongside Nathaniel Wilson which brought independent food traders into Victoria Centre over two years ago and has gone from strength to strength.

"To see a business succeed there and go on to acquire a stand alone restaurant is truly inspiring and I look forward to finally being able to eat in 101 Castle Boulevard as Liam’s creativity with a full plant based vegan menu is outstanding and I would say the best in class.”
