Nottingham Trent students react after teenager left with life-threatening injuries after flat balcony fall

A teenager has been left with life-threatening injuries after he fell from a balcony in Nottingham city centre.

The 19-year-old was rushed to hospital after he fell in Hampden Street at around 3.48am on Saturday, October 5.

Police officers taped off the student halls in Nottingham city centre, which included a second floor balcony area.

Hampden Street, just off Peel Street, remained open and traffic was unaffected by the cordon which was located on the pavement area.

The cordon has now been lifted.

Jake Pearson, a product design student living at Gill Street, added: "I feel really bad for that person. When I’ve been walking to university there have been a few people walking about on the balcony. It’s sad."

Adam Maher, 22, an accounting and finance student, added: "We heard someone had fallen.

"It’s pretty sad because it can happen to anyone. We’re wishing him a speedy recovery."

Tom Bestwood, a first year student at NTU, said: "Looks like a crime scene to me. You would expect to see stuff like that in Nottingham, but not in student accommodation."
