Nottingham Tesco suddenly closes due to power failure

A Tesco shop in Nottingham city centre has suddenly closed due to a power failure. The Tesco Express store in Angel Row, appeared to be shut in the afternoon on Friday, March 25.

Shoppers were unable to enter the store and were met with a sign on its front door which cited power failure as the reason for its closure and directed customers to its Maid Marian Way and Upper Parliament Street shops instead. It is unclear when the shop will reopen.

The message, displayed on two white sheets of paper, read: "Unfortunately we are currently unable to trade due to power failure. We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to rectify the situation.

"Please find our nearest store on Maid Marian Way and also Upper Parliament Street."
