Nottingham start-up that improves the lives of newborns wins award for innovation

Nottingham start-up SurePulse Medical Ltd (SML) has won a Medilink East Midlands Innovation Business Award, presented at the Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport

The firm, which is based at Medicity in Nottingham, develops medical devices including specialised newborn monitoring systems. 

The first product, the SurePulse VS, provides clinical staff with the right information at the right time to give every baby the best start to life.

James Carpenter, the CEO of SML, said: “We are delighted to have won the Innovation Award and I am supremely grateful for the efforts of the whole team at SurePulse.

"Together we are developing life changing, innovative technologies that have the potential to improve the life-chances for millions of newborn babies across the world."

SML is a joint venture between the University of Nottingham and Tioga Ltd, a leading UK electronics manufacturing business based in Derby.
