Many major retailers across Nottingham will remain shut on Boxing Day, with many companies giving staff the day off as a thank you for their work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Four of the 'Big Seven' major supermarkets will keep their doors closed on Boxing Day in 2021, it has been reported.
While Sainsbury's was open on Boxing Day in 2020, this year the retailer said it would close its stores across the city with Morrison's and Aldi reportedly making the same move.
The other retailers to confirm they will close on Boxing Day include Wilko, Waitrose, M&S and Iceland.

Supermarkets that will open on Boxing Day
For supermarkets that are open - including some Asda and Tesco Express stores- expect reduced hours on Sunday, December 26, as well as on Monday December 27 and Tuesday December 28, as they are both bank holidays due to Christmas and Boxing Day falling on a Saturday and Sunday respectively.
