Nottingham shopkeeper chases after two men who stole alcohol and cigarettes from his store

A shopkeeper chased after two men who stole alcohol and cigarettes from his store before being threatened in the street. The victim, in his 20s, is said to have chased after the two men at around 7.30pm on Saturday (July 30).

He was threatened during the incident on Cedar Street in Forest Fields after the chase from his shop on nearby Wiverton Road. The shopkeeper was unharmed during the incident.

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating what happened. Officers are appealing anyone with any information, or who may have footage of the incident, to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Andy Buxton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim and we are determined to track down the people responsible as quickly as possible. To this end we would like to speak with anyone who saw or heard a disturbance in this area on Saturday evening.

"We would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have footage of what happened on a doorbell or dashboard camera."

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 655 of July 30.
