Nottingham set to be battered by 28 hours of rain and flood warnings issued

Rain is expected to hit Nottingham from midday on Friday right through until Saturday afternoon.

The Met Office is forecasting around 28 hours of rain across the region and a number of weather warnings are in force across the country.

The Met Office forecast for Friday, October 25, said: "After a dry start to the day cloud will thicken through the morning with rain moving northwards during the afternoon.

"The rain will be persistent and heavy at times, especially over the hills. Winds strengthening through the day. Maximum temperature 15°C."

The Environment Agency has issued a number of flood warnings across the country.

Areas such as Ratcliffe-on-Soar, Sutton Bonington and Kingston on Soar are within the flood risk areas.
