This Morning's Phillip Schofield has revealed this morning that he is gay.
The presenter made a statement on his Instagram this morning, letting fans know the news as well as letting people know live on air.
The statement said: "Today, quite rightly, being gay is a reason to celebrate and be proud.
"Yes, I am feeling pain and confusion, but that comes only from the hurt that I am causing to my family.
"My inner conflict contrasts with an outside world that has changed so very much for the better.
"Every day on This Morning, I sit in awe of those we meet who have been brave and open in confronting their truth - so now it's my turn to share mine.
"This will probably all come as something of a surprise and I understand, but only by facing this, by being honest, can I hope to find peace in my mind and a way forward.
"Please be kind, especially to my family."
Nottingham residents have gone to social media to share messages of support and love to the presenter since making the annoucement.
Football coach Dean Lale from Nottingham said: "@Schofe Big admiration for your brave announcement this morning. Doesn’t change how we feel about you. You are a great presenter and we wish you and your family all the best".
Nicole Bull said: "@Schofe well done for coming out. Love is love, no matter what. So emotional watching you on tv but so so proud of you".
Adam Odell added: " @Schofe the whole of U.K. is with you. Nothing changes. Love is love. #proud"
