Nottingham's Upper Parliament Street reopens six hours after man hit by bus

A section of Upper Parliament Street in Nottingham city centre has reopened this evening after a man was hit by a bus.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 2pm on Wednesday, September 18, and Upper Parliament Street has been cordoned off.

A man was taken to hospital with "serious injuries" following a crash involving an NCT bus.

Six hours later the road reopened after police conducted their investigation into the crash.

Around 46 NCT services had been affected by the incident which left Upper and Lower Parliament Street at a standstill throughout the afternoon.

Drivers were also being severely affected by the disruption into Wednesday night.

The section of road that was closed connects Upper Parliament Street to South Sherwood Street, near to the Theatre Royal and The Cornerhouse.

Nottingham City Transport said there were delays of up to 70 minutes on some of its services, but by 8.30pm these eased to around 25 minutes.

Trentbarton said its Rapid One, Rainbow One and The Two services had also been disrupted.
