Nottingham’s Soul Boy takes over the BBC Radio airwaves on Bank Holiday

An 18-year-old with a passion for Northern Soul who featured in a BBC One documentary about his life growing up in care is about to make his radio debut.

Nottingham’s Anthony Flavlin aka Soul Boy, can be heard on BBC Radio Nottingham this Bank Holiday Monday 5pm-6pm. It’s the first time Anthony has done anything like this. He’s picked his own tracks and shares his personal story of Northern Soul for the show.

Anthony aka Soul Boy said: “I really enjoyed the experience of working with BBC Radio Nottingham on this special programme for Bank Holiday Monday. I hope the audience and Nottinghamshire’s Northern Soul crowd will enjoy the music I’ve chosen”.

Chris Pegg, Editor of BBC Radio Nottingham: “We were all moved by Anthony’s story. His passion for Northern Soul and the great journey he has been on is inspiring.

"So we wanted to give him on hour on BBC Radio Nottingham where he could play his songs and share his love with our listeners.”

Listen to Soul Boy on BBC Radio Nottingham on Monday, August 31 between 5pm to 6pm.
