Nottingham's Size? store to close down and this is what is taking its place

Nottingham's only Size? store is set to close and become an upmarket menswear retailer in September.

The chain retailer in Clumber Street which sells designer branded training shoes, sportswear and accessories will be closing on Friday, August 9 for a refit.

The Hip Store, which sells "rare contemporary menswear", will be moving in towards the end of September.

Currently, The Hip Store is based in the Poultry Arcade, opposite High Street, but it will be relocating and replacing Size?

Heidi Wiltshire, 28, who has been the assistant manager at Size? for more than two years, said staff members at the store will be transferred to a new role when The Hip Store moves in.

"Only the staff members who choose to leave will be lost," she said.

"The last day of trade will be today (August 9) and we will then be closed for a refit. We are going to be in the same location and we are going to become Hip.

"Size? will no longer be represented in Nottingham. We don't have a specific date for opening, but it will be at the end of September."

The Hip Store currently has two retailers, one in Nottingham and another in Leeds.

It was founded in 1987 and sells latest collections from more than 100 designer brands.
