Nottingham's Revolucion De Cuba is closing for a massive revamp

Nottingham's Cuban adventure will temporarily grind to a halt when Revolucion De Cuba closes its doors this weekend.

The lively bar, which brings a taste of Havana to the city centre with salsa dancers, is having a week-long refurbishment with some big changes to the decor, including three new luxury booths.

"It's going to have a great VIP feel to it," said sales manager Danielle Gault.

The bar, which has been opened nearly four years, will close after Saturday's partying. The new look will be unveiled at a big relaunch on Friday, August 16, which will also showcase the new private hire space and show everyone "how they do it Cuban style."

Revellers can bag themselves an exclusive invite to the event, which will have surprise food and drink giveaways and entertainment, including fire dancers and maybe one or two well-known Nottingham faces.

"We don't want to say too much as we want people to be excited," added Danielle. "It will still be Cuban themed and authentic but the furniture was starting to look out-dated."

There's good news for fans of the bar's tasty tapas, paella, enchiladas and rum cocktails as the food and drink menus will remain the same after the makeover.

The bar, in Market Street, will reopen at 5pm. To reserve a place on the guest list email bookings-nottingham@revoluciondecuba.com
