Nottingham roads around Railway Station will be closed over the weekend

Roads and areas surrounding Nottingham Railway Station will be closed over the bank holiday weekend due to work taking place at the city council's headquarters.

Equipment will be lifted and installed on the roof of Loxley House in Station Street.

So from Saturday (May 29) until Monday (May 31) Trent Street and Station Street will be shut.

People using the railway station should be dropped off from the station's car park in Queens Road, where free parking is available for half an hour.

On Sunday, May 30, East Midlands Railway staff plan to strike.

This is due to affect the following services:

  • 8.25am Nottingham to Derby

  • 10.12am Derby to Nottingham

  • 8.01pm Lincoln to Nottingham

  • 9.03am Grantham to Nottingham

  • 11.40am Newark North Gate to Lincoln

  • 7.45pm Newark North Gate to Lincoln

  • 11.06am Lincoln to Newark North Gate

  • 7.15pm Lincoln to Newark Castle

  • 9.12am Nottingham to Mansfield Woodhouse

  • 7.12pm Nottingham to Mansfield Woodhouse

  • 9.56 am Mansfield Woodhouse to Nottingham

A spokesman for the city council said: "Please plan your journey in advance and check before you travel to avoid any inconvenience."
