Nottingham restaurant closes down until 'coronavirus is under control'

A Nottingham city centre restaurant has closed down until the 'coronavirus is under control.'

Miss Korea, a Korean BBQ restaurant in Long Row, has put a sign in the window saying: "Dear customers, the shop is currently closed and we will re-open when the coronavirus is under control. Sorry."

Nottinghamshire Live has tried to contact the restaurant. It's not known whether an employee has been affected or whether the decision to close has been prompted by the general decline in footfall following the Covid-19 outbreak.

Meanwhile, other restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes are striving to reassure customers about hygiene measures.

The owners of jazz bar Peggy's Skylight in Hockley said: "We sanitise everything a hand touches, our doors, the frames, bannisters, till screen, card machines, backs of chairs, pillars, you name it we spray it, wipe and throw away. Don't stand still too long! We use a 30 second contact time sanitiser and disposable blue roll. This happens before and after every service.

"Our staff are also hyper-aware, making sure their hands are washed many, many times during service, especially before taking dishes from the pass and after handling cash.

"They are cleaning the menus with sanitising spray after each use. We have a state of the art air conditioning system that pumps in fresh air and removes the old."

French restaurant Bistrot Pierre, in Milton Street, has advised customers that distances between tables have been increased and all tables are cleaned after each use with medical grade cleaning products.

"It is so important that we support and look after each other during this time, so if you have any questions or want to talk to our team further about any issues relating to coronavirus, and your or our team members well-being, you can contact us on questions@Pierre94,co.uk and we will be in touch."
