Residents in Thorneywood have reported hearing a "bizarre" noise early in the morning.
The strange sound has been described as a constant noise similar in that to an "aeroplane engine starting up over and over".
Local resident Chris, who did not provide his surname, said he first heard the loud bang at 6.30am on Wednesday, August 5.
He told Nottinghamshire Live: "At 06.30am I heard a loud noise coming from outside.
"At first I thought it was an helicopter. I went outside to check and heard this loud intermittent sound.
"There was a long constant sound with white noise with it. The main sound was similar to an aeroplane engine starting up, over and over."
Chris says it stopped at around 7am and added the video he captured does not do it justice.
