Nottingham Racecourse update after dog walking confusion

Nottingham Racecourse has provided an update on dog walking on the track after people posed the question on social media. There was some confusion on Facebook after a query was made about where people could walk their dogs near the track.

However the racecourse cleared things up after confirming that a rule against walking your dog on the track "has been been the case since last year." Replying to a Q&A on TripAdvisor last year, the course said: "unfortunately we do not allow dogs on site."

Elsewhere across Nottinghamshire, dogs have been prohibited. from public parks in recent months. Dog exclusion zones have come into force across the entire Rushcliffe borough, including in children's play areas and skate parks.

Dog walkers who do not carry waste bags while walking their pet also face being fined under the new rules following a meeting on July 7.

Rushcliffe Borough Council approved a borough-wide Dog Control Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) which is now in place following a meeting on July 7. This order means dogs are banned from certain areas and owners face heftier fines for fouling.
