Nottingham pub temporarily closes after staff member tests positive for Covid

A Nottingham pub has temporarily closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

The Roundhouse, near Nottingham Castle in Royal Standard Place, is the latest to be hit by the virus.

The Vale Pub in Arnold is also currently closed after three employees tested positive and the Fox and Crown in Old Basford has closed its doors until October 15 following a positive case of the virus.

The Roundhouse closed on October 8 as soon as it learnt the news and other staff have been told to self-isolate.

Public Health England has been notified as part of the Test and Trace procedure and the pub is undergoing a deep clean before reopening.

The news was announced on the pub's Facebook page. A reopening date has yet to be announced.

The owners said: "As a precautionary measure to allow our staff to isolate, and to ensure a thorough deep clean of the pub can take place we have taken the decision to temporarily close.

"We are following Government guidelines and have informed PHE for track and trace purposes.

"As soon as we deem it safe to reopen we will let you know. See you on the other side!"

The owners declined to comment further.
