Nottingham pub temporarily closed after staff member tests positive for Covid-19

A Nottingham pub has revealed it has temporarily closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

The Fox and Crown, in Church Street, Old Basford, says it will remain closed until October 15 following the positive case of the virus.

The venue says that, while the staff member had "no symptoms" whilst at work, it is following government guidelines and has contacted all other staff members who came into contact with the employee.

Customers who have been at the Church Street site may now be contacted by the NHS Trace and Trace system and advised to receive a Covid-19 test, or self-isolate.

Posting on its Facebook page, the venue said: "We have been informed that a staff member has recently tested positive for Covid-19.

"The staff member had no symptoms whilst on the premises but has since been tested positive, and as a result we have a duty of care to our staff and customers to close our premises until the October 15 when we will re-open after following the guidelines from NHS England.

"All our staff that have been in contact have been advised to get tested should symptoms arise or they are advised to as we will be following guidelines from the authorities.

"If you have visited the pub you may be contacted via the Track & Trace NHS procedure.

"Our sincere apologies to all, but we would like to act responsibly and we feel compelled to put safety first and we will reopen as soon as we can.

"Thanks for your understanding."
