Nottingham pub gives staff time off to get Covid vaccine

Staff at a Nottingham pub are being allowed paid time out from their shift to get the Covid-19 jab.

Brewhouse & Kitchen, on Trent Bridge, is part of the 23-strong chain allowing employees 'vaccine time' - time out to attend their appointment.

Although the company is not mandating the jab, it is encouraging staff to book their vaccination as soon as they can "to support ongoing efforts to protect all team members, guests, combat the virus and unlock the economy."

Brewhouse & Kitchen chief executive Kris Gumbrell said: “We encourage other companies to do the same to protect our teams, our communities and give hospitality the best chance of recovery.”

The company is also promising to pay for any team members who want to have the flu vaccine this winter.

Walk-in Covid-19 jabs are available for all adults this weekend until Monday, June 28, in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as part of the county's 'Big Weekend' for vaccinations.

All eligible adults can go and get a first or second jab from 8am-8pm.

All those eligible for their Covid-19 vaccine will be able to receive a vaccine at nine sites across the county including; Gamston Community Hall, Forest Recreation Ground, King’s Meadow Campus, Richard Herrod Centre, Newark Showground, Ashfield Health Village, Mansfield Wickes site, King’s Mill Hospital Vaccination Hub and Queen’s Medical Centre.
