Nottingham pub closes for month-long revamp and it may include a beer garden makeover

Popular real-ale boozer The Organ Grinder has closed for a month-long revamp which may include a makeover for its Canning Circus beer garden.

The Blue Monkey Brewery pub, in Alfreton Road, announced it would be shutting up shop on Monday, March 18 for 31 days while a renovation takes place.

Workmen are now on-site preparing the main bar area for new panelling and some well-deserved tender loving care.

Nottinghamshire Live also understands that the well-liked beer garden out back will be having its own mini makeover with details soon to be confirmed.

The brewery has shared pictures on its Facebook page of the pub's empty cellar after having a good deep clean, ready for the arrival of lots of tasty beer.

Debuting at the 2008 Robin Hood Beer Festival, Blue Monkey Brewery moved into the former former Red Lion pub, in Canning Circus, in 2011.

It now has five pubs across Nottinghamshire and Loughborough including branches in Arnold and Newark.
