Nottingham primary school closed as 'a number of staff' self-isolate amid coronavirus concerns

A primary school in Nottingham has been closed as a result of numerous staff members self-isolating.

Nottingham City Council confirmed Forest Fields Primary and Nursery School had been closed as of Monday, November 30 due to a lack of staff available for work.

A number of parents contacted Nottinghamshire Live regarding the closure of the school in Stanley Road.

Some said they had become "deeply concerned" after receiving a text saying the school had closed, but without an explanation.

A spokesman for the city council said: "Forest Fields has closed today because a number of staff are either self-isolating or otherwise unavailable for work.

"The school cannot open for operational reasons."

The council has not confirmed when the school will reopen.

More than 100 schools across Nottinghamshire have now been forced to close amid the coronavirus pandemic.
