A PR professional from Nottingham was "a little gobsmacked" after being named one of the best advisers in the UK.
Greg Simpson, founder of B2B agency Press for Attention, was one of 50 finalists across a range of disciplines in this year's Enterprise Nation competition.
He was the only representative from the Midlands in the PR category and after a public vote he was named in the Top 5.
Mr Simpson said: "I'm incredibly proud to have been nominated because these awards start from client feedback and to have made the Top 50 was fantastic.
"Then when I heard I had made the Top 5 I was a little gobsmacked at first and then just incredibly thankful.
"I have never been shy of sharing free advice in my own marketing and PR and that approach has paid off. I always say to my clients that if you are an expert, you are paid for what you know and you must be open to sharing your best advice.
"I thank everyone who I have worked with, who nominated and who voted for me - it means a lot."
