Nottingham park and ride reopens 4 days after flooding caused it to close

A Nottingham park and ride has reopened after being closed due to flooding.

The city's popular Queens Drive Park and Ride near Wilford was forced to shut on Monday (February 21) amid rising water levels at River Trent following the recent bad weather.

Other major closures were in place across the city due to flooding concerns.

While the park and ride was closed, commuters were told to use Racecourse Park and Ride as an alternative.

In a tweet on Friday (February 25), the Nottingham City Transport said that the park and ride had now reopened.

It said: "Nottingham City Transport Queens Drive Park and Ride site is open today as normal."

Various storms caused flooding and wider disruption across the county.

Most recently, Storm Franklin brought high winds which caused flooding across the county.

Before this Storm Dudley caused trees to fall in Mansfield and Ruddington, as well as onto a home in Wollaton.

While Storm Eunice caused significant damage to Basford United's Greenwich Avenue stadium, as winds reached more than 50mph across Nottinghamshire on Friday, February 18.
