Nottingham McDonald's restaurant was forced to close due to staff self-isolating

A Nottingham McDonald's restaurant was forced to only operate its drive-thru and delivery service after a number of staff members had to self-isolate.

The store in Victoria Retail Park in Netherfield had to change the way it operated due to staff shortages.

Nottinghamshire Live was informed on Saturday, July 17 that customers were being turned away from the restaurant by staff.

This is because a number of employees had either tested positive for Covid-19 or were isolating as they had come into contact with someone who had received a positive test.

Normal service has now resumed at the restaurant.

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "While we have now resumed normal service, for a short period last week, our Victoria Retail Park restaurant temporarily operated Drive Thru and McDelivery only, due to a number of employees self-isolating following positive COVID-19 tests or close contacts.

"We contacted all restaurant employees, as well as Public Health England, and the restaurant was deep cleaned by an external cleaning company.”
