A Nottingham man has scooped a £5,000 prize in a supermarket's Wonka like chocolate bar competition.
Stephen Dowling, 67, claimed a prize of £5,000 after receiving a chocolate bar as a birthday gift from his partner’s daughter, Emily, who bought the winning chocolate bar from Aldi Woodborough Road store in Nottingham.
In Stephan's chocolate bar he found the first of 25 golden tickets in the supermarket's Golden Giveaway campaign.
He said: “I couldn’t believe it. I was given the chocolate bar as a humorous gift whilst out for a birthday dinner with family but was surprised to see a golden greeting inside – and what a gift!
"My family and I are in the process of moving house so the prize couldn’t have come at a better time. Thank you very much Aldi!”
24 tickets remain to be found across the country, with each worth either £5000 or £10000.
All shoppers must do to enter is buy one of Aldi’s giant 800g bars of Dairyfine Milk Chocolate.
If the bar purchased contains a ticket, the shopper will be eligible to claim the value of the cash prize written on the ticket by visiting the store's website before 11.59 pm on January, 24 2022.
