Nottingham juice bar 'overwhelmed' by customer response after reopening

The owner of a Nottingham juice bar says he has been "overwhelmed" by the amount of support he has received since reopening.

Independent food retailers in Nottingham have been struggling due to reduced footfall due to Covid-19, with a report released last month stating only 18% of the city's workforce are back in the office.

Some shops told Nottinghamshire Live they were taking in 50% less money than they were before the pandemic.

This isn't the case at No91 Juice Bar, however, which is located on Mansfield Road in the city centre.

Owner Stebastian Darling says it's not just familiar faces he's seen since lockdown - in fact the bar has actually gained new customers.

He says his business is offering something different to the area, which has proved appealing to local residents.

He said: "I have actually been overwhelmed by the response since we reopened a few weeks ago.

"I've been quite impressed with how many people are coming in and supporting the business. Everyone has been very respectful and followed the measures we have in place.

"They are all like-minded people - I think they are grateful for the diversity we offer, there are a lot of barbers and takeaways on this road so there wasn't a lot of options for people before we reopened."

The bar serves healthy smoothies, juices and protein shots.

Despite a lack of advertising, Mr Darling says his drinks are a hit with people who keep coming through the door.

"I haven't put any flyers or advertisements out," he continued.

"A lot of it has been word of mouth and through social media.

"I'm extremely happy considering I hadn't opened for all that time.

"We do have some regulars coming in, but a lot of people have been walking by and have seen us closed for so long, so have been really happy to see us back open again."
