Nottingham hospital trust confirms more coronavirus patients have died

The medical director of a Nottingham hospital trust has confirmed more patients being treated for Covid-19 have died.

Today, Wednesday April 22, Nottingham University Hospitals confirmed six more patients died between April 20 and 21.

The new figures mean a total of 157 patients have died at either Queen's Medical Centre or City Hospital.

Dr Keith Girling, medical director at Nottingham University Hospitals, said: “Sadly we can confirm that a further six patients have died having tested positive for COVID-19. Regrettably that means that 157 COVID-19 positive patients we were caring for have sadly died since the beginning of March.”

“The patients were aged between 74 and 102, and died on April 20 and 21.”

“The families have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”
