Nottingham Goose Fair thrill seekers praise 'crazy' new Void ride at 2022 event

Visitors trying out the newest ride at Nottingham's Goose Fair say the white-knuckle experience is "horrible" but that they wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Thrill seekers visiting Goose Fair at the Forest Recreation Ground are this year able to try out a number of new rides.

Alongside the UK's newest loop fighter, Red Devil, people can also take the plunge and have a ride on Void, which made its debut at last year's Hull Fair. The attraction spins riders at incredibly fast speeds and some of those trialling it out were left dizzy after going on it.

Jack Marriot was one of those left stunned by the spinning ride. The 19-year-old said: "It's horrible, it was horrid." But he also added: "I'd do it again now I know what to expect, it was mint."

Ben Burrow, 24, another thrill seeker who went on the Void, said: "It's fast, it was really good. It's the first time we've gone on it and it's good value for money."

Goose Fair is having an extended run this year, with visitors able to sample the delights until Sunday, October 9. Around 400,000 people are expected to enjoy the rides, funfair food and the chance to win a huge cuddly toy.

Thowfeeq Abeueljabbar was also planning to go on Void with his wife Hizaa. Thowfeeq said: "Some people like it, some people like to do daring stuff.

"I'm thinking about going on it later. It's like sky diving or bungee jumping.” Hizaa Jabbar added: "It looks good actually. It's crazy, but I am scared of the dizziness."
