Nottingham Forest youngster will push to extend stay with loan club

Nottingham Forest youngster Toby Edser says he will push to stay at Woking beyond the end of his one-month loan, but admits that the decisions is not up to him.

The 20-year-old midfielder scored an 88th minute winner on Monday night against ten-man Dover, his first goal since returning to the club with who he enjoyed a brief loan spell last term.

That stint ended in January when he was snapped up by Port Vale to join defender Adam Crookes at Vale Park.

But now back in Surrey, he has admitted that he did not want to leave last time around.

Speaking after his fourth appearance of the season, Edser told SurreyLive that he is delighted to be back in with Woking and that he hopes both the Cards and Forest will come to an agreement to see his stay extended.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be back. I’m really enjoying myself, getting games and more experience,” said Edser.

“I’m originally here for a month on loan. I’d love to stay here for longer, but if I’m honest it’s not down to me.

"I can say what I want, and say that I love it here and want to stay here, but I’ll have to speak to the manager and see what the plan is.

"Because I’ve come from Forest , they might want me back. I think both parties would not mind me staying here."

He added: “I definitely want to stay, I can honestly say that, so hopefully we can get that sorted. I’ll be pushing it from my side, 100 per cent.”
