Nottingham Forest youngster Tyler Walker 'one to watch' as Mansfield Town look to recover from promotion heartbreak in play-offs

Three of Nottingham Forest's young guns will be in action for Mansfield Town this evening as they look to take a big step towards securing League One football next season.

The Stags missed out on automatic promotion last week, losing at MK Dons with their hosts going on to claim automatic promotion.

David Flitcroft's side have had to regroup as he aims to pick his players up from disappointment and ready them for the play-off charge.

Among the ranks at Field Mill are three of City Ground academy graduates, all currently on loan in north Nottinghamshire.

24-year-olds Jorge Grant and Jordan Smith have both been in and out the side since joining in January.

Grant has already played a part in getting one side promoted in the Football League this campaign after spending the first half of his season with League One champions Luton.

But star striker Tyler Walker is the man who has been dubbed as 'one to watch' by the EFL ahead of kick-off tonight.

Walker has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season in what has been his first full year in the professional game.

Record signing Joao Carvalho has been a big 'hit' for Nottingham Forest

His future remains a hot topic of conversation at Forest with supporters torn between recalling him ahead of next season's Championship campaign and sending him back out on loan.

Victory for the Stags this evening will take them one step closer to a Wembley promotion final, but first they must overcome the tough test of a trip to Rodney Parade to face a Newport County side unbeaten in ten.
