Nottingham Forest youngster Arvin Appiah setting international sights high as England career steps up

Arvin Appiah says anything is possible for his international career after taking things to the next level with England.

The 18-year-old, who made his first Nottingham Forest start last week against Sheffield Wednesday, has impressed Three Lions coaches this season earning what for him was an unexpected promotion to the under-19s.

'If players don't want to stay at Nottingham Forest they should just carry on the way they are doing - they'll be out the door'

Appiah featured in two qualifiers ahead of this summer's UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Armenia as he continues his international progression, which started with England Under-16s back in 2016.

"I was expecting to go away with the under-18s again, but I got called up for the 19s and I was delighted," said Appiah ahead of Saturday's clash with Blackburn Rovers.

"My family were so happy as well and it is another step for me.

Why is there a Nottingham Forest season ticket in Barcelona's Nou Camp tunnel?

"I just have to keep my head down and work hard.

"It was a great experience for me to play against some very decent players.

"There is a talented squad there, the speed is quicker than the 18s but I thought I handled it well and I just have to have a strong mentality, keep working and then anything is possible in the future."
