Nottingham Forest winger Alex Mighten is England's hat-trick hero against Australia

Nottingham Forest winger Alex Mighten got all three goals for England Under-18s in their 3-2 win against Australia.

Mighten was England's hero at Leicester Road FC in Hinckley in their opening game of a four-team tournament, which also features Brazil and South Korea.

Noah Botic opened the scoring for Australia from a fifth-minute penalty before Mighten benefited from Ahmad Taleb's goalkeeping error.

Mighten’s second in the 36th minute was a superb solo effort when he used his pace and skill to contrive the opening for an angled finish.

The Reds teenager then tapped in his third to make it 3-1 before Trent Ostler got Australia back in the game.

Mighten is a regular in the Reds Under-23s team and is highly rated at the City Ground. Although yet to make a senior debut, he was an unused substitute in the Carabao Cup first round win against Fleetwood.

Left-back Matthew Bondswell, who began his career with Forest but chose to join RB Leipzig, also started for England.
