Nottingham Forest win race to sign exciting young Linfield prospect Dale Taylor

Linfield youngster Dale Taylor is set to move to EFL Championship club Nottingham Forest.

Nottinghamshire Live are reporting that Forest have sealed a deal for the 16-year-old forward.

Taylor was also being linked with Championship leaders Leeds United but is now set for the City Ground.

The teenager is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the Irish League, having progressed through the ranks at Linfield to feature for David Healy's champions this season.

Taylor has been training with Rory Hale ahead of his move across the water.

Hale tweeted this week that Taylor had signed a long-term deal with Forest:

Leicester City and Derby County were also keeping tabs on Taylor, who scored his first senior goal for the Blues in a County Antrim Shield tie against Cliftonville in October.

Speaking about Taylor last year, Linfield boss David Healy said: "Dale’s a chunk of a lad and is a strong, tough boy.

"He’s a Tigers Bay boy and is from an area where you need to be tough mentally. Dale has all the attributes."
