Nottingham Forest 'will sell Matty Cash for £12m' as another Premier League club circles

Matty Cash is attracting attention from yet another side with Southampton the latest club to be linked to the Nottingham Forest star.

Cash’s performances have unsurprisingly garnered interest and the Saints, who were first reported to be keen on the right-back last year, are now serious contenders, the Sun report.

The 22-year-old has previously been linked with Burnley, West Ham, and AC Milan.

The latest report suggests Southampton will make their move for Cash when an auction starts, with the south-coast club keen to utilise him on the right of midfield, where he more regularly played before being dropped into defence by Sabri Lamouchi this season.

It adds that the Reds are willing to part with their star man for only £12m.

Cash thanked Forest supporters for their backing throughout the season in the week following the dramatic final day and the fall out of the play-off spaces.

He said: ““After reflecting on the past week and taking time to understand what happened, I just want to say thank you to everyone for the continued support all season.

“You have been truly remarkable, we must move on from this now and stay positive ready for a massive season ahead.”
