Nottingham Forest will play in front of fans at three upcoming games - but not at the City Ground

Nottingham Forest might not be able to play in front of fans at the City Ground, but two of their upcoming opponents can welcome supporters.

Forest will go to Reading, Norwich and Millwall before Christmas with those clubs able to welcome 2,000 fans after those areas were placed in tier two by the government today.

The Reds go to Reading on December 5, three days after lockdown ends, with the trip to Carrow Road taking place on December 9. Their other away game before Christmas is at Millwall on December 19, with London in tier two.

Forest and Notts County fans will have to wait to be able to see their teams in action following the latest government announcement.

It was this morning revealed that both Nottingham City Council and Rushcliffe Borough Council areas will revert to tier three status - meaning supporters will not be allowed back into Meadow Lane or the City Ground when lockdown ends

Stadiums in tier one areas will be able to host up to 4,000 fans or 50 per cent of the stadiums' capacity - whichever number is lower.

In tier two, the cap is set at 2,000 fans or 50 per cent of the stadiums' capacity - but stadiums in tier thee will have to continue holding fixtures behind closed doors.
