Nottingham Forest vs Sheffield Wednesday - Sabri Lamouchi and Garry Monk name their starting XIs

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi made one notable change to his Nottingham Forest side for Saturday’s Championship meeting with Sheffield Wednesday.

Joe Lolley was dropped to the bench by Lamouchi, with the Frenchman opting to recall Joao Carvalho into the starting XI with the Portuguese playmaker likely to operate off the right flank, with Tiago Silva in the number 10 role and Sammy Ameobi continuing to operate from the left.

Elsewhere, Lamouchi named the same side which were held to a hugely frustrating 1-1 draw by Middlesbrough at the City Ground on Tuesday night.

There was no place in the 18 for Samba Sow or Yohan Benalouane, who both featured for the Under-23s at Hillsborough on Friday afternoon as they fight to overcome injuries, while Yuri Ribeiro was still absent.

Brice Samba was once again named in goal, with Jack Robinson on the left side of the defence, Matty Cash on the right, Joe Worrall and captain Michael Dawson in the middle.

Ben Watson and Ryan Yates again named together in the holding midfield roles behind the attacking quartet spearheaded by 10-goal striker Lewis Grabban.

Lolley was joined on the bench by Aro Muric, Tobias Figueiredo, Rafa Mir, Alfa Semedo, Chema Rodriguez and Albert Adomah.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds have a poor record against the Owls, winning just once in the last nine suffering eight defeats.

The pair meet with just a point separating them with the Reds occupying fifth spot and the Owls in eighth after their midweek draw at Derby County.

Wednesday, meanwhile, were without the suspended ex-Red Sam Hutchinson and Moses Odubajo through suspension.
