Nottingham Forest trio sent special message from Brighton manager

The nickname “Nottingham Forest and Hove Albion” quickly started doing the rounds on social media after the Reds’ win on Saturday.

There is a new-found connection between the Reds and Brighton, after striker Glenn Murray left the latter and made the move to the City Ground on deadline day last week.

He joined former Seagulls Anthony Knockaert and Gaetan Bong, who were already at the Reds, and linked up again with Chris Hughton, who he worked with on the south coast.

All three players then contributed to an important 3-0 win for Forest at Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend, with Murray netting a brace, Knockaert scoring the third goal and Bong helping to keep a clean-sheet.

That made it back-to-back victories for Hughton as he looks to get the Reds away from danger in the Championship table.

But current Brighton boss Graham Potter is also pleased to see the effect those players are having Trentside.

He told SussexLive: "It is fantastic for them. They were wonderful servants for us, fantastic professionals.

"They were great guys, I liked all of them. So it is nice they are playing and contributing to the team.

"Long may that continue."

The trio also seem to be happy with their reunion.

After the weekend win, Knockaert wrote on Instagram: “I cannot explain the feeling of scoring. Great team performance. What a pleasure to play with this guy again @gajm83 (Murray).”
