Here are your latest Nottingham Forest transfer headlines...

Everton transfer being 'considered'

Nottingham Forest are showing an interest in Everton defender Mason Holgate during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Steve Cooper is keen to add to his squad in the winter window as he looks to lead his side away from the Premier League relegation zone in the second half of the season. And the Reds are keen to add to both ends of their team.

Forwards are a position being looked at, but Forest are also keen to strengthen their defence. According to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett , they are ‘considering’ Holgate as one of a number of defensive options in January.

Josh Bowler transfer decision

Nottingham Forest winger Josh Bowler’s loan spell at Olympiacos has been cut short.

The summer signing was due to spend the season in Greece with the Reds’ fellow Evangelos Marinakis-owned side. That deal has now been terminated and he has joined former club Blackpool on loan for the rest of the campaign.

Sunderland 'keen' on transfer

Nottingham Forest striker Sam Surridge looks to be on the way out of the club this month as another club register their interest in the player.

The Reds are believed to be willing to let the 24-year-old go out on loan in the January transfer window. Sunderland are 'keen' to bring him in until the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.

It is said that the Black Cats see Surridge as a replacement for Ellis Simms, who was recalled from his loan by Everton. Meanwhile, another one of their strikers in Ross Stewart has been linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light.

Bowler responds

Nottingham Forest winger Josh Bowler has said that it was a ‘no-brainer’ to return to former club Blackpool on loan after the move was confirmed on Thursday.

The 23 year-old returns to the Seasiders on a temporary basis less than six months after signing for Forest in a deadline day deal. After becoming a Forest player, he joined sister club Olympiacos on loan.

However, that move didn’t go as hoped with Bowler struggling for regular game time in the Greek league. He made a total of four league appearances and was left out of the squad for the last four games.

Man United U-turn

Manchester United did 'consider' recalling Dean Henderson from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest this month.

However, the goalkeeper's parent club have 'decided against' ending the deal early to take him back to Old Trafford, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook. He will spend the rest the season with Forest as initially intended.

The Red Devils have been in the market for a backup goalkeeper since the January transfer window opened after Martin Dubravka returned to Newcastle United from his curtailed loan spell. The Slovak international asked to be recalled, according to Eddie Howe.

Burnley eye striker deal

Nottingham Forest are reported to be ready to listen to offers for striker Sam Surridge amid interest from Championship leaders Burnley.

Vincent Kompany is understood to be “keen” on the 24-year-old and a loan deal is also an option for the front man, who joined the City Ground last January, netting seven times in the league to help the Reds gain promotion back to the Premier League.

However, although the former Stoke City player has featured in ten top flight games so far this term, he’s yet to score. Used as a regular from the bench and mainly as a late impact player, Surridge has often been sent on in the final few minutes of matches. But the Clarets, who are currently five points clear at the top of the Championship, are looking to boost their automatic promotion push with an extra, proven goal scorer at the level.

The striker’s future at the City Ground looks uncertain with a number of clubs said to be interested in the player during the January transfer window. Championship side Sunderland are the latest to be linked with an interest.

Surridge is said to be one of a number of players Forest are willing to let leave the club in January in order to free up spaces for any new additions made in the window. Steve Cooperis keen to add to his squad to help in the fight for Premier League survival at the end of the season.
