Nottingham Forest transfer targets revisited as £7m man linked

Champions League star linked

Nottingham Forest have been linked with a multi-million pound move for out of favour Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne.

The 28-year-old centre-forward scored 11 goals in 17 games to help fire the Turkish giants to the league and cup double in 2019 before being frozen out and sent out on loan to Club Brugge, with whom he’s played Champions League football this season.

Sabri Lamouchi could pay big for £7million rated Senegal international if Forest make a return to the Premier League, claims HITC.

Speaking to HaberTurk, Diagne admits he has been left stunned by Galatasaray’s decision to freeze him out of the first-team picture after doing so well last year, believing he would be the club’s first choice No.9.

it hasn’t taken Brice Samba long to become a firm fans’ favourite at Nottingham Forest.

The goalkeeper wasn’t even first-choice between the posts when he signed for the Reds from Caen last summer.

But there is no unseating him now as he has established himself as a key part of Sabri Lamouchi’s plans - and earned the affections of Forest supporters.

Radical Premier League plan would not go down well at Forest

The Premier League season could be expanded next season to accommodate those fighting for promotion from the Championship this season.

But the proposal reportedly being suggested would mean Nottingham Forest would miss out on a place in the top-flight this time around.

Premier League bosses will meet on Friday, and it is claimed they will discuss putting a June 30 deadline on finalising the 2019/20 campaign.

All elite level football in England has been suspended indefinitely because of the coronavirus crisis.

Four transfer targets Forest could go back in for

There is still plenty of uncertainty about when Nottingham Forest’s season will resume, and when the subsequent summer transfer window will open.

The Reds will hope when it does, they will be planning for life in the Premier League as they aim for promotion under Sabri Lamouchi.

But whichever division they find themselves in, Forest are likely to want to strengthen their squad when they get the chance.

Twelve signings came through the door last summer and a further four additions were made in January - including the recall of striker Tyler Walker from his loan spell at Lincoln City.

The club had a number of targets who did not come off, though, as well as plenty who they were linked with. So could the Reds revisit those players in time for 2020/21?

We’ve had a look at some of those players and what their current situation is.
