Nottingham Forest transfer target twist as crunch talks planned

Crunch talks

Nottingham Forest are still waiting to see if they can resume their season and, if so, what form that will take.

Crunch talks are due to take place at an EFL meeting today (Wednesday) when a number of key issues will be discussed.

Clubs across the EFL’s three divisions have been hit hard by the economic impact of the coronavirus, with a significant number - including Forest - utilising the government’s furlough scheme during the past few months.

Diagne transfer twist

Mbaye Diagne recently dropped a big hint that he could set to sign for Nottingham Forest.

The Galatasaray striker, who has been on loan at Club Brugge, has been repeatedly linked with a move to the City Ground.

And he added fuel to the fire with an Instagram post picturing himself in Champions League action with a Forest badge edited into the shot.

Taylor set for move

Nottingham Forest transfer target Lyle Taylor looks set to move in the summer, Charlton boss Lee Bowyer has suggested.

Forest have been linked with a move for Taylor, as Sabri Lamouchi's promotion-chasers look to beef up their squad.

Taylor has scored 11 goals in 22 games for the Addicks this season and Forest have kept an eye on his progress.

They will be interested in the latest thoughts of his current boss as he addressed fears over the future of his players and the discussions on how the current Championship season should end.

"I've got players out of contract on June 30 and they won't play after that, I know that," he told Sky Sports.

Lolley hits out

Nottingham Forest star Joe Lolley has questioned the Government's response to the coronavirus crisis and recent comments made by Prime Minister Boris Johnson regarding the latest lockdown guidelines.

Fresh advice was issued at the weekend in the wake of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which including a slight relaxing of some of the lockdown rules.

When asked to address some confusion over the strategy, Mr Johnson called on the public to use "good, solid British common sense".

There have now been more than 40,000 coronavirus-related deaths in the UK.

The outspoken Lolley appears to be less than impressed by the Prime Minister's latest comments, and suggested action should have been taken earlier to deal with the threat of the virus.
