Nottingham Forest transfer target performs dramatic Charlton Athletic u-turn

Charlton Athletic's Lyle Taylor WILL play for his club during the final games of the season after the striker sat down with boss Lee Bowyer on Friday afternoon.

The pair, according to a report by the Sun, to have held peace talks after Taylor initially refused to help his team fight for their survival at the bottom of the Championship in fear of picking up an injury that could threaten a summer transfer move.

The 30-year-old is expected to secure a big switch elsewhere in the coming months with Celtic and Nottingham Forest just two of the many sides linked with his services.

But he has come under plenty of scrutinies for his decision to sit out when his current club needs his goals the most.

Taylor has hit 11 goals in 22 appearances this season after starting the campaign with four goals in four games.

Charlton are currently placed 22nd in the Championship and are just two points from safety.

Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton had previously warned that he would "put Taylor up a wall" were he his teammate at the Valley.

The ex-Blackburn and Norwich City striker said: "If I was in his dressing room, I’d get him up against a wall, I’d pin him up against the wall, he has let his club down."
