Nottingham Forest transfer rumours: Reds star attracts further Premier League interest after Arsenal link

Nottingham Forest defender appears to have more Premier League interest ahead of a potential January move.

The 22-year-old is reportedly a potential target for Arsenal in the New Year, with the Gunners sending scouts to watch the defender.

Now fresh reports in The Mirror claim that Everton and Newcastle United are regularly sending scouts to watch the former Rangers loanee in action for the Reds this season.

The report adds that the duo will both have scouts in attendance for Forest’s clash against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this evening.

Arsenal are also believed to have plans to have scouts assess Worrall’s performance against the R’s, according to reports earlier this week.

This is not the first time Newcastle have been linked with a January move for Worrall, with reports last month claiming that the Magpies see the defender as a cut price option with his contract set to expire in the summer.

However, Worrall signed a new four-and-half year contract in October 2017, meaning his deal in fact runs until 2022.

Regardless, Forest are unlikely to want to sell and it would be hard to tempt Worrall to leave given he is a boyhood Red who came through the Nigel Doughty Academy.

The player had previously been linked with Crystal Palace and Burnley before falling out of favour under Aitor Karanka.

He subsequently spent last season on loan at Rangers before forcing his way into the Forest first team under Sabri Lamouchi.
