Nottingham Forest transfer rumours: Latest on trio's future at City Ground

The January transfer window is drawing closer - but will Nottingham Forest make a move in the market?

Sabri Lamouchi's men have fallen off the promotion pace of late, compounded by Saturday's dismal 4-0 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

So, will Lamouchi look to strengthen ahead of the new year push for a play-off or promotion spot?

ADVANCED STAGES

Nottingham Forest defender Chema continues to be linked with a move away from the City Ground.

The  Reds  central defender was reportedly the subject of interest from  Spanish club Almeria  last week, but now fresh reports have provided a development.

According to  Diariode Almeria , negotiations between the Forest and Almeria are at at advanced stage, and “on track” which could see a deal could be completed within days.

The report adds that Chema is keen to return to his homeland, despite only signing for the Reds in the summer from La Liga side Levante.

CARVALHO TO GO?

Olympiacos have been linked with a £15m swoop for Nottingham Forest ace Joao Carvalho.

The Greek club - owned by  Forest  owner  Evangelos Marinakis  - are interested in signing the 22-year-old in the January transfer window, according to The Sun on Sunday.

Turkish side Trabzonspor were also recently credited with an interest in Carvalho, too, prompting Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi to  respond to speculation surrounding the player's future .

FOREST FACE JANUARY DECISION

With talk of Forest potentially bringing in another striker in the New Year, one option that sections of supporters have called the club to act on is recall  Tyler Walker  from his loan spell at Lincoln City.

The 23-year-old is on a season-long loan with the League One side, and has been a regular figure for the Imps this term.

In 24 appearances so far this season, Walker has scored 10 goals for Lincoln including three in his last five outings.

Sabri Lamouchi confirmed in September that Forest could recall the forward in the New Year.

Liverpool youngster eyed by Leeds and Swansea 

Leeds United and Swansea City are both interested in young Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. 

The 18-year-old has also scored 13 goals in 18 appearances for Liverpool’s Under-23s this season, as well as scoring the winner in the penalty shootout victory against Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. 

According to Goal , the pair have both enquired about the youngster’s availability, with the Reds set to meet with at least three interested parties over the weekend.

Newcastle end their pursuit in Jarrod Bowen 

Newcastle ready to admit defeat over in their pursuit Jarrod Bowen. 

The Northern Echo are reporting that Hull City’s valuation of the forward and interest from Tottenham Hotspur having convinced the Magpies there is little chance of being able to land the 22-year-old next month. 

Bowen scored 22 league goals last season and has so far added a further 15 from 22 starts this season. 

Hull eye former Feyenoord man 

Hull City are reportedly interested in signing former Feyenoord winger Bilal Başaçıkoğlu.

The Tigers, according to Dutch outlet ELF Voetbal , are monitoring Başaçıkoğlu, as are Premier League pair Leicester City and Norwich City.

Başaçıkoğlu has recently been playing for Turkish side Kayserispor and contracted with them until 2021. However, due to financial difficulties, his contract was terminated last week, leaving the Dutch-born winger without a club.

Stoke midfielder set to leave  

Stoke City midfielder Peter Etebo wants to leave the club in January, according to StokeOnTrent Live

The 24-year-old is keen on moving on from the Bet365 Stadium in the upcoming transfer window and failing to nail down a place in the Potters starting line-up. 

Etebo could be allowed to depart the club with boss Michael O’Neill looking to trim down on his squad and balance the books.
