Nottingham Forest transfer rumours: Arsenal eye Reds star in January

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is reportedly being tracked by Premier League giants Arsenal.

According to Football Insider, the Gunners are in the market for a new centre-back in the January transfer window, and have identified Worrall as a potential target.

The report adds that Arsenal will have scouts in attendance for Forest’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night in order to watch Worrall in action.

It is being claimed that Arsenal could make a move for the 22-year-old when the transfer window opens in the New Year.

Worrall has been in fine form for Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds this season, featuring in all 16 of their league fixtures so far.

The Nigel Doughty Academy graduate also captained the Reds for their Carabao Cup ties against Fleetwood Town and Derby County, but he did not feature in the third round clash against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium in September.

Forest are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, while Arsenal are eighth in the Premier League and have conceded 19 goals in their opening 13 fixtures, including two against Southampton in their last outing.
