Nottingham Forest transfer news: Tyler Walker addresses Reds return speculation

Tyler Walker remains focused on scoring goals at Lincoln City, despite clamour from some Nottingham Forest supporters to see him return to Trentside before the transfer window closes.

Walker has again proved his finishing abilities in the lower leagues this season, plundering 13 goals at Sincil Bank in League One, having netted 26 last term a league lower as Mansfield Town made it to the play-offs.

It’s that form, coupled with Forest’s worrying lack of firepower beyond 14-goal star Lewis Grabban which has seen calls for the 23-year-old to be recalled in January and support the Reds’ bid for promotion.

Rafa Mir has been Sabri Lamouchi’s only alternative in attack to Grabban, and he’s yet to score with an expectation he will be sent back to Wolves, seeing his disappointing loan spell ending early.

The striker bagged his third in two games to help the Imps see off Peterborough on New Year’s Day, but says his mind is only in one place, despite increased speculation surrounding his future, with manager Michael Appleton desperate for him to remain at Sincil Bank.

“It’s a season-long loan so I’m just trying to get as many goals and points as I can for Lincoln,” he told Lincolnshire Live.

"It’s a great opportunity for me here. I playing with good players and it’s going well. Chances are being created and I’m scoring goals.”

Walker and his ever-improving Lincoln side are next in action this weekend when they face a trip to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, knowing a win would see them leapfrog the Black Cats in the League One standings, and it’s an occasion he’s relishing.

“We’ve been playing really well over the last three or four games,” said Walker.

“We’ve got confidence in the way we’ve been playing and that the chances would come.

“We’ve had a strong Christmas period against good opposition.

“We feel like we can go up against them [the division’s top sides]. These two wins will give us confidence going into the Sunderland game.

“We’ve got to play with no fear.

“It [the Stadium of Light] is a great place to go and we’ll be ready for the fight.”
