Fifth in the table. Two points off third place, with a game in hand. Nottingham Forest are in a promising position as we prepare to ring in 2020.
Forget that five-match winless run, forget that performances haven’t always been up to scratch, Sabri Lamouchi’s men are still very much in the promotion mix.
There’s every chance they can be right up there come May.
But they need reinforcements. They need to make the most of the January transfer window.
It is a big month coming up for the club and their top six aspirations.
There have been plenty of times before when the Reds have faced significant windows - for various different reasons.
This time, though, they are better placed in the league at this stage of a season than they have ever been in the last decade.
They have a real opportunity in front of them.

And what happens in the following 31 days isn’t far off potentially being make or break.
Whether Forest achieve their ambitions won’t be down to their winter business alone - there are things they need to address on the pitch, too - but it will be key to how the next few months pan out.
It’s no secret where Lamouchi will be looking to strengthen.
Concerns about a lack of firepower were raised by supporters and pundits alike back in the summer, when, with only Rafa Mir arriving, it meant just two recognised strikers in the squad.
Mir has struggled to make the impact it was hoped he would, and it would come as no surprise to see him head back to Wolverhampton Wanderers early.
It has meant there is no getting away from the importance of Lewis Grabban to the side.
He has done a tremendous job and been in fine form, with 12 goals to his name so far - firmly on track to hit that 20 landmark. But he needs help.
The Reds cannot rely on him alone. You get the impression Lamouchi is only half-joking when he talks about keeping Grabban “in the fridge” between games, in a bid to protect him.
Moreover, they need to find a way of creating more chances for Grabban - and anyone else who comes in.
It has been an issue in the first half of the campaign, and is something which could be addressed with the right recruitment.
The window won’t require wholesale changes; Lamouchi has talked about needing only two or three new signings.
But get it right, and January could make a whole world of difference.
