Nottingham Forest transfer news: Reds striker linked with Spain move

Striker Rafa Mir is reportedly considering his options as his time at Nottingham Forest looks set to come to an early end.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee has struggled to make an impact since switching to the City Ground in the summer, making 13 appearances - nine of them as a substitute - and failing to find the back of the net.

And, according to reports in his homeland, the Spaniard is wanted by Real Zaragoza for the second half of the campaign.

A “request” has been made to Wolves for the forward’s services, according to Sport Aragon.

However, it is suggested that the 22-year-old also has interest from other clubs, too.

The report states that a lack of game time with the Reds is not “meeting the expectations of the player”, and he is looking to make the move from Trentside.

Mir has been left out of the Forest matchday squad for the last three games, against Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Wigan Athletic.

Fellow loanee Arijanet Muric was also absent against the Tigers and the Latics.

But head coach Sabri Lamouchi said there was nothing to read into the fact neither had been included among the substitutes.

“No, it was nothing special,” he said, when asked about the pair’s omission at the KCOM Stadium.

“It was just our decision, and nothing else.”
